Plus de 85 000€ collectés en faveur des enfants dans le besoin grâce à la course RBC Race for the Kids Luxembourg

22 October 2018

Over 1,300 runners gathered at Place de l’Europe in Kirchberg this Sunday for the fourth RBC Race for the Kids in aid of the Kannerhaus Jean Therapy Centre, a children’s charity supported by the Luxembourg Red Cross.

This year, a new 10km route was added to the traditional 5km fun run and family entertainment.

The event raised more than €85 000 for Kannerhaus Jean Therapy Centre that offers a range of therapies, including innovative animal therapy, for children aged between 4-18 years old who suffer from behavioural and psychological disorders.

We are very happy to see the high turnout of participants for this year’s races” said Luc Scheer, Member of the Management board, and Rita Krombach, Vice President of the Luxembourg Red Cross. “We would like to thank RBC and its employees for this remarkable initiative and their continued support since 2015, as well as the CSL Club d’Athlétisme Luxembourg, Fonds Kirchberg and the City of Luxembourg. In September this year, we had the pleasure of officially opening the new Kannerhaus Jean Center and boarding facilities. The financial support generated by RBC Race for the Kids has helped to implement this project. The funds raised this year will go towards the upkeep of the animals which is one of the main innovative therapies used, and to help the center pursue their exceptional work with children and their families.

At RBC, we all take great pride in helping to make a difference to the lives of the children and families supported by the Luxembourg Red Cross and Kannerhaus Jean” said Yves Lahaye, General Manager RBC Investor & Treasury Services Luxembourg. “We were honored to see the new therapy center and boarding facilities open earlier in the year and I am thrilled to see such great interest and engagement for this noble cause from the general public as well. I would like to thank all the participants, including my colleagues at RBC, whose effort made this year such a success once again.

Since its launch in New York in 2009, the RBC Race for the Kids series has raised over €26 million for children’s charities around the world.
